Online Workshop & FGD Series: Bibliometric Analysis
The Online Workshop on Bibliometric Analysis, organized by the Cluster for Paleolimnology (CPalim), Universitas Diponegoro, was successfully conducted on 24 November 2025 via Zoom. This capacity-building activity was designed to strengthen researchers’ competencies in bibliometric methods, supporting the development of research that is both scientifically impactful and globally visible.
The workshop addressed the growing importance of bibliometric analysis in understanding research landscapes, identifying emerging topics, and enhancing scholarly communication. By introducing both conceptual frameworks and practical applications, the session provided participants with tools to critically evaluate scientific output and strategically position their research within international contexts.
The workshop featured Prof. Dr. Tri Retnaningsih S., M.App.Sc., who delivered a comprehensive overview of bibliometric concepts and methodological approaches, emphasizing their relevance in environmental and paleolimnological research. Mirza Hanif Alfalah, S.Si., M.Ling. complemented this perspective by demonstrating the use of bibliometric tools and data sources, including techniques for mapping research trends and analyzing collaboration networks.
Key topics discussed during the workshop included the introduction to bibliometric methods, identification and comparison of bibliometric tools and databases, mapping of research trends and collaboration networks, and strategies to enhance research visibility and impact at national and international levels. These discussions enabled participants to better understand how bibliometric analysis can inform research planning, publication strategies, and institutional performance assessment.
The session was moderated by Hernanda Afra Haniyyah, M.Si., who facilitated effective interaction between speakers and participants, ensuring a focused and engaging discussion throughout the workshop.
Overall, the Online Workshop on Bibliometric Analysis successfully enhanced participants’ analytical skills and awareness of research impact metrics. The activity reaffirmed CPalim’s commitment to supporting high-quality, data-driven research and fostering a research culture that is adaptive to global scientific developments.
